About the Webinar: This presentation will address how the law has responded to situations involving both intentional and negligent discharge of firearms as it relates to coverage under Homeowners, Automobile, and CGL insurance policies, including whether the policies provide coverage and if so, under what circumstances. Defense and coverage for self-defense shootings is an area of particular focus given the split of authority between states in how the policies are interpreted. Additionally, the webcast will address the intersection of tort liability under established case law and the response of insurers for the events, including insurance and programs created to provide protection where traditional insurance policies have been found to provide insufficient or no coverage. Also addressed is the impact of pleadings and coverage for the liability of intentional actors and/or third parties when negligent-based tort theories are asserted.
