About the Webinar: Everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI). Insurers are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance business operations, augmenting their ability to access and analyze information, and investigating claims and complaints. Meanwhile, law firms are using generative AI tools to assist in their legal practice and advertising. While the ability to collect and synthesize data offers many benefits, insurers, policyholders, and counsel face challenges in dealing with invasion of privacy, discrimination, intellectual property infringement, ethics violations, and other liabilities that may arise if AI data or processes are mismanaged. Concern about these risks is prompting increased regulatory and enforcement scrutiny by insurance departments, attorney regulators, and even Congress. Claims deriving from AI, such as intellectual property offenses and privacy/publicity offenses, are also on the rise. AI is everywhere and cannot be ignored. The panel will explore examples of the benefits and pitfalls of AI and discuss some actions insurers, policyholders, and counsel can take to manage their risks.
The panel will also discuss case law addressing AI issues, such as is AI Generated Work entitled to Copyright Protection, does AI violate privacy, contractual risk transfer issues and more. Take a leap and learn more about how AI impacts insurers and coverage attorneys.
