The Supreme Court of Texas found that the appeals court had erred when it had concluded that a hotel cannot constitute a residence under the mandatory venue provisions of the Texas Labor Code and therefore, an injured professional athlete could maintain suit in Dallas County when appealing the denial of his workers' comp claim even if the injury had occurred in California during the team's training camp since he had stayed at the Dallas hotel during summer practice and intended to return to Dallas County at the conclusion of the California training camp.
