A court of the Northern District of Texas adopted a magistrate's recommendation to stay proceedings pending clarification from the Fifth Circuit in another case dealing with the question of how courts are to determine the amount in controversy for diversity jurisdiction where a plaintiff files a petition seeking appointment of an umpire under an insurance policy's appraisal clause.
