8/29/18 Special Insurance Regulatory CLE: “Duties to Report Misconduct”

August 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Co-Sponsored by the Austin Bar Association and the Insurance Law Section of the State Bar of Texas

WHAT: Lunch hour event with 30 mins of CLE credit and networking between public and private practitioners

WHEN: Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from Noon – 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: Austin Bar Association, 816 Congress Ave., Ste. 700, Austin, TX 78701

WHY: Austin is the capitol and headquarters of the Texas Department of Insurance, which regulates the 9th largest insurance market in the world. In addition to the half-hour CLE presentation, we want to hear from attendees whether there is interest in creating an insurance section within the Austin Bar Association and whether the Insurance Section of the State Bar of Texas can better cater to the needs of regulatory insurance practitioners.

Presenters:

Rachel A. Cloyd, Director, Regulatory Analysis Office, Texas Department of Insurance

Rachel’s role in Enforcement involves not only anticipating and identifying market trends and compliance issues, but also handling complex property and casualty litigation. With more than 10 years of experience in insurance compliance, administrative law, and commercial litigation, she has represented TDI in a wide variety of enforcement matters.

Jon L. Gillum, Senior Counsel, Locke Lord LLP
