Hernandez v. Life Insurance Co. of North America

Court: WD Tx  04/01/2020  Denial of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits Upheld

A Magistrate Judge of the Western District of Texas held that an insurer's determination that its insured was not entitled to short- and long-term disability benefits under a disability benefits plan was supported by substantial evidence, and the insurer did not abuse its discretion in finding that the employee's mental conditions did not prevent him performing the normal duties of his job.
